Michelle Lundy
La Rica Performance Horses
Michelle has been involved with horses in some form or fashion since the age of 5. What started as a summer at Grandma’s, attending summer camp at Peggy Richardson Stables, quickly became an obsession. During her junior exhibitor career, she and her Half- Arabian mare, A-Melody of Love, showed Saddle Seat Equitation and Country English Pleasure. For quite a while, Michelle was without a trainer, due to barns closing and her trainer moving out of state. She and her mother, Marica, would travel and do it all together. These are some of her favorite memories.
In 2011, Michelle found herself horseless and in need of a part time job as she had quit her job to care for her ill mother. That was when she was offered a position teaching summer camp. She fell right back in love with teaching and training. She soon was offered the Assistant Trainer position where she stayed until 2018 after the birth of her daughter.
LaRica was developed as a side business in 2015. After the birth of her daughter, Michelle decided to take the leap and go out on her own. Now she enjoys working close to her home and family at the lovely Feather Creek Farm in east Norman.
Michelle is a highly decorated rider and trainer. She has earned several top placings in all seats, as well as national and world titles in western dressage and classical dressage. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her USDF Bronze Medal in 2017.
