Spring Horse Trials at Feather Creek

Horses and riders who place 1st – 6th in either the April or October event, or who complete both events, will qualify for the November WHES Championship at Carolina Horse Park!

Divisions Offered:

Horse Trials: Green as grass (FKA Intro), Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, and Modified

Combined Tests: Green as grass (FKA Intro), Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, Modified, and **NEW** Preliminary and Intermediate!

HT & CT - Cross Country & Show Jumping Heights:

  • Intermediate - 3'9" (1.20m)

  • Preliminary - 3'7" (1.10m)

  • Modified - 3'5" (1.05m)

  • Training - 3'3" (1.00m)

  • Novice - 2'11" (.90m)

  • Beginner Novice - 2'6" (.80m)

  • Starter - 2'3" (.70m)

  • Green as Grass (Intro) - 18" (.43m)

  • Intermediate - USEF 2022 Intermediate Test A

Rates: 

  • Horse Trial: $140

  • Combined Test: $110 (includes $10 nonrefundable office fee)

  • Stabling: $200 for Friday through Monday (limited stabling available, enter early to ensure you get a spot!) $35 charge if stall not stripped 

  • Scratch fee: Scratches received via email prior to closing date will be refunded, less a $10 office fee

  • Change fee: $10

  • Competition cancellation: No Refunds

  • Late Fee: Entries received after the closing date will be subject to a $50 late fee. Due to the inconsistency of delivery from USPS, entries must be received by the show secretary by the closing date, not postmarked by the closing date.

  • Entries must be accompanied by payment. Entries received without payment will not be handled. For a Venmo option, please email the show secretary. 

  • If you do not enter and pay prior to the event, you will not be able to compete.

Other information:

  • Start times will be available on the Thursday prior to the event.

  • The competition will be held in accordance with USEA and USEF rules. Click here to access the rules! 

  • ASTM helmets are required when mounted. Safety vests are required for cross country. Riders must wear medical armbands when mounted. 

  • Ribbons will be awarded for 1st - 6th place

  • Paper pinnies are in effect; you must have a pinney holder to compete.

  • All cross country and show jumping will be timed.

  • Bring a folding camp chair and plenty of extra water!
